Nora Mendyk

Senior Pastor

Holdrege is a great place to live and pastor.  My husband Dave and I are enjoying learning about the history, culture, and community activities.  Between us we have five young adult children, and nine grandchildren living in Loveland, CO; Omaha, NE; Aberdeen, North Carolina; Wahoo, NE, and Budapest, Hungary.

I am fortunate to have a variety of experiences before becoming an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008.  (Wife, Mom, teacher, Christian education and youth director, Lay Pastor, and Assistant Pastor.)  I have enjoyed pastoring in several Nebraska communities: Giltner, Phillips, Omaha, West Point, and Grant.

Attempting to follow God’s leading is always an adventure.  I enjoy hearing of other people’s adventures in life.  Stop by the church or call and we can meet for coffee.

God bless you!

Candance Miller

Director of Faith Formation

My husband, Ryan, and I and our three children have lived in NE since May 2008.  Before moving, I had an in-home daycare which allowed me to be at home with our children.

I have always had a passion for working with children, so when the position of Children and Youth Director came open at the church, I decided to apply.  This setting was new to me as my previous experience with kids had been in a childcare setting.  I accepted my current position in November of 2009.  I have had so much to learn not only about myself, but about kids and what it means to be a disciple.  I am definitely a work in progress but my work at FUMC molds me and shapes me more and more into the image of Christ each day.

As I continue to learn and grow, I am open to ideas and suggestions for how to better minister to you and your family.  Stop by or give me a call.
